What's wrong with Slanted & Enchanted?

I think he is saying Slanted and Enchanted is better. And he would be right.

Oooh right, sorry misunderstood it. I like crooked rain the more I listen to it, which is a good sign. :D

Why's Slanted and Enchanted better, different sound? Or just a stronger song by song album?

Even I could make a lo-fi sounding mishmash of half baked Mark E Smith mannerisms from the mid 80s should I choose to.

I don't know why Pavement are praised to high heaven when they do it.

They surely aren't god's gift to indie...I just find their music enjoyable is all. I share your confusion about how people run around saying their music is pure genius...but I still like it.

Eh, I'd say ignore Urban on this one. I'm with you on only liking bits and pieces and Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain. But Slanted & Enchanted truly is the bees knees and you ought to give it a try. Honestly, it's the one you should have started with IMO...

I'm not saying they're a bad band by any means. i have a soft spot for Wowie Zowie.

But that's about the only thing of theirs I rate.
