I've always found Spiderland to be nothing more than an slightly average 90s indie album.

I don't really know, I just listened to it twice and didn't get it. Does it take more listens? like most albums, maybe the hype ruined it. But from what I've heard about it, it sounds like one of those albums that you listen once and just go wow. I didn't feel that way.
What's so good about it?! |

I like it. For me it kind of captures the feel of that time as I imagine it was like. That psychedelic out of your mind sound. Nico's low dreamy voice. Hm, I feel like smoking right now...

She does have a weird and unique voice, but at least her voice suits what she sings. There's way worse female vocalists out there.
Like Joanna Newsom, one of the most beautiful voices of this generation? Really? Yeah, the voice of our generation sounds like a cross between Lucille Ball and a cat in heat. Go figure. |
