Yeah, the Enjoy Incubus EP. And that's just about it... I have however heard most of their albums and Light Grenades bores me even to their standards.

I think Science is underrated overall, but it's rated very highly among Incubus fans, and among the older fans, I don't think they give Morning View enough credit, though I understand the reason they dislike it is because it marks a major departure from their original style. But just about every album marks a significant change in one way or another. I certainly don't like the direction they've taken with Light Grenades. |
I just wish they had stuck with the really funky tunes they started out with. I understand that it's good for a group to evolve but I'm just not the biggest fan of what they've turned into. They are still miles above the murk of the modern Alt. Rock genre though.

I know they're not for every taste. But they take an unfair beating as it is, I don't know why they get all the hate for being a "mainstream radio" band when they're pretty much the only one right now that doesn't make me want to kill myself. They're the only thing I can even still listen to on modern rock radio. |
Am I the only one who likes A Crow Left of Murder?

But overall I like it, Boyd is a great singer and Einziger is a damn good guitarist, they seem to be having a bit more fun here and are not as subdued as they were on the past two albums. I mean every album they've done has been radically different from the last, and I think for the most part they have pulled those changes off, and for a band to be able to do that and still maintain commercial success and a loyal fanbase is certainly impressive. So yeah, it really pisses me off when people just write them off as some crappy unoriginal nu metal band while Radiohead get all the praise for changing it up every album. |
