I don't think any band/artist can be considered objectively good or bad, hence there really is no worst band ever, or a best band ever.
But I'd say if I had to pick anyone who I consider to be the most horrible excuse for a band with absolutely no talent in any form and just makes painful, unbearable, unlistenable and godawful music alltogether, it would be Modest Mouse, no one comes close.

Actually I've heard around 4 songs that are completely horrid. The whole sound is mainly bass oriented. Psychostick kicks wayyy much more ass than them, and they're a comedy band.
