Except for the fact that it's bland, boring, simple and overplayed. Other than that.....

SOAD aren't really Nu Metal anyway.
I discriminate based on the fact that the music sucks. I've never once in my life heard a nu-metal band that was remotely listenable. Honestly the worst genre of music to exist.

SOAD have plenty of urban elements to their music (especially notable in their vocal approach), hence nu-metal.

Dimmu Borgir are despised about as much as Cradle of Filth in the black metal community because they've popularized a genre through accessible means (Cradle with melodies and catchy hooks and Dimmu with symphonic keyboards).

I personally love Dimmu but as a metal band with symphonic attributes, and yet by stark contrast I loath Cradle of Filth for having absolutely no black metal roots, corpse painting, ridiculous vague lyrical content having nothing to do with black metal, and having no musical ability whatsoever.

More crappy bands:

Amber Pacific
Matchbook Romance
Aiden

Absolutely not. The idea of nu metal is essentially mixing elements of hip hop, funk and grunge with groove metal. Theres absolutely no hip hop/funk/grunge influence in SOAD. A few groove metal elements, but thats about it.

SOAD has a lot of hip-hop elements to their music. On any given album there'll be at least two tracks where Serj "sings" in a very rap-like manner, and done quite poorly too.

Yep. Those Black Metal fans sure hate anything with as much as a trace of melody.

I just think that, you know, that music needs... melody. Or at least rhythm, and I can't even find any of that in the wall of guitar noise and high pitched screaming known as black metal.

I pretty much hate most black metal bands, so I like to dignifiy Dimmu Borgir by not even thinking of them as a black metal band.

Two tracks, wow, thats a lot.

King Crimson did a song in Barbershop style, does this make them a Barbershop Quartet?

No, that makes King Crimson diverse.

SOAD has used a lot of "anti-progressive" hip-hop style drum beats.

Funny that you use the term "Anti-Progressive". SOAD have prog influences, which distinguishes them from any Nu Metal band.
