Default Talk Talk

A band that started out as a pop band (and I would say a good one at that) to creating an early post rock classic with Spirit Of Eden album. Mark Hollis tortured vocals dominated their sound and it was himself and Friese Greene (their producer and later keyboard player) who wrote everything and dominated the band later in their career. This track from earlier in their career (1984) and can be seen as fairly average but I love their early stuff too.

This track is from their later period and is probably the most commercial track on the album that encompasses pop, rock, ambient and Jazz.

their music can be seen as depressing, but I think there is a beautiful honesty in their music, and Spirit Of Eden (1988) is a lost classic.
