A lot of people dislike the pop music formulae that The Ramones were so good at. Their music is dismissed as 2 minute workouts that all sound the same. I am not saying that it is right. Every fooker should have at least a Clash album in their collection lol. I think what we WANT people to own and what they actually have is vastly different and the number of artists that are common factors are definitely less than double figures.

I think everyone should own The Empire Strikes First or New Maps Of Hell by Bad Religion, but I doubt anyone'll agree. Also, at least something by The Shins, Victor Wooten, The Clash, Jim Hall, John Coltrane, etc... But again, I doubt people would agree with that.

I think OK Computer is a fairly safe bet but the answer to this should be The Beatles - Revolver. If you don't have that in your collection you're pretty much ghey.

Yeah...It's noted as being the first real power pop album. Not to today's standards but I can definitely hear the beginnings of PP in "And Your Bird Can Sing.

And Your Bird Can Sing I Want To Tell You Got To Get You Into My Life those are the only three tracks i can see as interpretably encompassing what you said. |
