Well thats what the quote option is for, but for the record I agree with you. There are plenty of genres or sub genres that arent my thing but there will be certain bands or artists from each I do like, or will like I'm sure.

And it isnt witty, its neccessary. You cant just post a quote as it doesnt count towards a character count.

Yes I suppose a quote would have been in order there. Im glad we can agree, im just alot more open minded than I once was. I used to be one to dismiss and generalize, over the years I have become more open minded.

I suppose it depends on your context in the use of the period. Certainly some people use it to try and be witty. I assumed you had sank to that same level. I apologize.

So because something is not someone's thing that makes it a plague? The original remark was disappointing and any defence of the remark as well.

I was under the impression that Music Banter was an attempt at being broad based community where we may not necessarily like all genres of music but at least respect that said genre has it's contributors.

To call Country, in fact any genre, a plague is a damned cheek considering that the vast majority of contributors around here discuss the same generic Rock sub genres on a constant basis, and from my observations, have been for ever and a day.

You don't have to like it but live and let live. To me that is what this is all about.

I have no idea why people just post a dot point. Can someone explain why?

Yes, that is the same point I was trying to make yesterday. Im glad someone agrees with me here.

About the dot post, it's normally used as a smart assed remark in referring to a quote, but as posted above by mojo, it can also be used as a necessary character needed to post a quote. Although, I feel that no matter what you quote, you should always add a comment of your own.

01) Angel Dust - Faith No More - 1992
This album changed my life. The Real Thing was the first album I ever got when I was about 10 and loved it so much that when Angel Dust came out I was so excited, but well not ready for what I was about to hear. From the moment land of sunshine starts I was just amazed that an album could have so much energy, yet could be so different for the last. As the album went on through smaller and smaller, crack hittler, ****lobber and ending with midnight cowboy, I felt then like I do now that I will never hear another album this good.
I still don't think a day has gone by that I haven't listened to at least 1 song from it.

02) Mr Bungle - Mr Bungle - 1991
The only reason I got this album was because it was Mike Patton's (from FNM) other band. The album doesn't start for 30ish seconds then the power of Travolta comes in and just blew me away. The album was like an odd cross between pop,metal,jazz, thrash,circus whilst being directed by David Lynch. Even tho I do think that Disco Volante is a better album The self tilted debut is more important to me. Both this Album and Angel Dust have given so much to music and have spawned many copycats *cough slipknot cough* that couldn't quite hit it.

03) Waiting For The Sun - The Doors - 1968
I just love the doors,and Waiting had everything that I loved about them. The hard hitting songs like Not to Touch the Earth,The Unknown Soldier down to the soft beautifull songs such as Hello, I Love You,Love Street to the final moments of Five to one. This album is outstanding.

04) Urban Discipline - Biohazard - 1992
This was my first taste of Hardcore and would help set my musical tastes for years to come. It's not the greatest album of all time (obviously) but seeing them live in 93/94 and having that album was just a great time. Alot of great Hardcore folowed and it helped me find a lot of older stuff that I would grow to love.

05) The Star Wars Trilogy Soundtrack - 1993
Great music for great films

06) Fantomas - Fantomas - 1999
After the demise of Faith no more I was a bit lost. I had picked up a few cd's that patton had done as well as other members of fnm but nothing was realy doing it for me. Then Fantomas' self titled Debut came out . Holy **** it was crazy. A whole album of thrash jazz metal, with no lyrics just Patton using his voice as another instrument. Then the line up of Buzz Osborne of The Melvins ,Trevor Dunn of Mr Bungle and Dave Lombardo of Slayer, made this one of the dream line ups for me ever. This album helped me find a true love for John Zorn and showed me that Mike Patton was on true form.

07) Reign in Blood - Slayer - 1986
Come on it's Reign in Blood

08) Sublime - Sublime - 1996
I found Sublime pretty late in about 1998, but the self titled was pretty much all I listened to throughout 98 and early 99. Such a great album full of great summer songs to relax and have a smoke to. This album was what sparked my interest in bands like DHC

09) The Few,The Proud,The Crucial - Casey Jones - 2004
I was so sick of hardcore by about 2001. Everything had that same beatdown in everysong, a lot of bands I liked were still bringing out albums I liked, but there was nothing NEW for me and it all just got weak. But Casey Jones changed that. So much raw energy,so many great songs and a bunch of Family Guy samples. I got the same feeling from them as I did with Morning Again years earlier.

10) Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends - 2002
I don't wanna get all "Emo" on you but this album got me through a lot, plus its got some catchy songs on it....... I don't have to explain myself to you.

1. Killswitch Engage - As Daylight Dies

Ummm, flawless album beginning to end. The screaming is excellent, it has good riffs and awesome melodies throughout each song and howard does some awesome chorus singing.

2. All that Remains - This Darkened Heart

I can Headbang to this album from start to end and i love the riffs in all of the songs. The album is truly epic and it is still ATR's best work so far.

3. Killswitch Engage - Alive or Just Breathing

Holy crap, this cd got me into metal all by itself. My last Serenade is one of the best songs ever and this album is very good lyrically as well. Very powerful album.

4. Parkway Drive - Killing with a smile

This cd gets me soooo pumped. I listen to it ALOT. Usually the most when i workout and lift weights because it shreds like crazy. Pandora is probably tied for my favorite song at the moment, and this album holds my favorite lyrics ever by anyone. " Cry Me a FVCKING RIVER, BITCH" Oh my god i love it.

5. Parkway Drive - Horizons

This album has amazing riffs, and awesome lyrics. This album has so much energy i could nearly headbang myself to death listening to it. The breakdowns are freaking amazing on this album, and the sirens song owns.

6. Bullet for my valentine - The Poison

I love this album and i love bullet. This album also has alot of energy with it, pretty good riffs and excellent choruses. Some of my Favorite songs ever are on this album.

7. Darkest Hour - Deliver us

I don't know, i just love every song on it.

8. Metallica - Ride the Lightning

Epic Album, i think i have listened to ride the lightning a thousand times in my lifetime. Probably the first metal album i really got into.

9. Trivium - Ascendancy

I have no idea why i love this album so much, but the deceived is such a beautiful song and it is one of y most played albums since i started liking metal.

10. Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper

Amazing Guitar work on this album. The solo in kissing the shadows made me pee myself the first time i heard it. EPIC
