Morrissey "Vauxhall and I"
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...uxhallandI.jpg

Often called Morrissey's masterpiece, Vauxhall and I really is a great album and contains some of Morrissey's most personal songs. This isn't my favorite Morrissey album (viva hate is) but I think it's certainly his most consistent and the best album to check out if you're new to his solo work. This album shows a much more matured singer and writer than we saw in the Smiths though by no means does that mean he's past his prime. This album is Morrissey, bitter, sarcastic, introspective and lovely.

Favorite Songs: Why Don't You Find Out for Yourself, The More You Ignore Me the Closer I Get, Lifeguard Sleeping Girl Drowning, Speedway, Hold on to Your Friends

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds "The Boatman's Call"
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/a...atmanscall.jpg

This is the only Nick Cave album I've heard and I think it's beautiful. The tone is very somber and usually it's just him, a piano and maybe a bass in there too. It kind of reminds me of some Magnetic Fields stuff (Busby Berkeley Dreams) and that's a very good thing. This album is beautiful in it's simplicity and honesty.

Favorites: Into My Arms, People Ain't Good, (Are You) The One That I've Been Waiting For?, Brompton Oratory, There is a Kingdom
