Default 50 Greatest Bands

I compiled this list earlier today. I titled it bands so you will notice an exemption of talented solo artists like Beck, or Bob Dylan. Here, I list a few reasons of why I like the band.

Also, be warned, there aren't many indie bands or underground bands, because I haven't had the chance yet to get into that, and am therefore leaving out some great bands.

1. Tool-(they're so good, it's sickening)
2. Pink Floyd -(just good melodic weirdness, never tire of them)
3. Rage Against the Machine -(not always in the mood, but when I am, oh oh)
4. Beastie Boys -(My favorite band in 1998, although from Ill Communication)
5. Alice in Chains -(I used to not like them, now I love them)
6. Pearl Jam -(I've listened to them as much as any other band ever)
7. Led Zeppelin -(they just rock, and rule, I mean they're good)
8. Radiohead -(such peacefulness mixed with such anti-culture)
9. Nine Inch Nails -(ya know, the first 2, or 3 albums were freakin' awesome)
10. Outkast -(great beats, great rappers, great minds)
11. The Used -(I can pretty much listen to them anytime)
12. 311 -(relaxed shi*, 'all that angst shi* is just cheesy')
13. Chevelle -(I love the pain, and angst, d'oh!)
14. Wu Tang Clan -(at least 5 great rappers w/ RZA; modern day Mozart)
15. Thursday -(haven't heard a song I don't like)
16. Primus -(just weird, bizarre; music makes me laugh)
17. Deftones -(great rocking metal combined with great whiny b.itching)
18. The Beatles -(those brats turned out to be wolves in sheep's clothing)
19. Incubus -(Albums #2,3,4 = Stellar)
20. Sublime -(My favorite band in 1997)
21. Soundgarden -(Day I Tried To Live, Burden in My Hand my favorites)
22. The White Stripes -(I've never heard a song I didn't like)
23. Smashing Pumpkins -(Siamese Dream obviously their best work)
24. Nirvana -(Huh huh, rock out the flannel shirts, dude)
25. Bush -(my favorite band back in 1996)

27. Coldplay -(good when I feel heartsick, i.e. constantly)
28. Cypress Hill -(see Grateful Dead)
29. Naughty By Nature -(Treach clearly the best rapper here)
30. Jane's Addiction -(Big FU to the world with Nothing's Shocking)
31. Jurassic 5 -(love that good, cognitive rap)
32. Grateful Dead -(listening to is good substitute for doing drugs)
33. A Tribe Called Quest -(smoothly unforced raps over smooth beats)
34. Weezer -(OK, their first 2 albums, before you give me any grief)
35. Talking Heads -(weird band, but very good)
36. Stone Temple Pilots -(3 very good albums in the 90's)
37. R.E.M. -(good, original band, in the 80's they were best)
38. Rush -(I used to hate them, but the drumming drew me in)
39. Brand New -(I don't know what any of their songs are about, oh well)
40. A Perfect Circle -(good gloomy rock from the post grunge era)
41. Filter -(Only album I've heard is Title of Record, very underrated album)
42. Toadies -(Whole Possum Kingdom album rocked, damned Burden Bros.)
43. Belly -(I'm a whiny little b.itch, and I like whiny little b.itches)
44. 10,000 Maniacs -(few soothe better than Natalie Merchant's voice)
45. System Of A Down -(hard rockin' metal, but with big conscience)

This reminds me to make a legit 50 greatest bands list. JJJ's was dumb. And frankly this sucks. A lot of the choices are ridiculous.
Edit: Not to be rude, this just seemed more like personal preference.

What? I don't think any of the choices sucked. Which ones are you referring to?

All the bands highlighted belong nowhere near a top 50 bands list, a lot of others are borderline.

I think you found a great place to broaden your horizons. I can't really agree with much of this list either.
