They're one of the most unique and innovative bands in history. They fuse a dozen different genres into extended improvisational masterpieces on their incredible live albums, and also have the ability to write good pop songs. All the members had a high level of musicianship, and the band represented hippy culture in early 70's. Not to mention that they're an incredibly influential psychedelic band.
