Yeah, but then you aren't really helping the community. You should probably strive to keep a s/l ratio of at least 1. Either way, you encrypt yourself so your IP doesn't know you are DLing from torrents. Second of all if you are really that scared join a good private community. The only problem about private communities is that they tend to force you to keep a nice high ratio, which sometimes can be hard to do because all the other seeds are getting all the upload points. I know one private community where I can find anything pretty much, but they require that you provide every freaking bit of information on the album and I don't feel like asking 10 people how to get that information. If there was an expert I would ask him, but I don't want to take up their time. I would ask the person that invited me to tell me, but I am already bothering him enough about Linux.

This puts you at a high risk for getting your IP targeted by the RIAA or their cronies.
The RIAA isn't working to sue individual people anymore. I can almost guarantee it. After Isohunt wins their case the RIAA will be put in their case for good. Then they will go back to suing programs. By the time the RIAA gets done with all of this torrenting will be much easier to hide.

Really? Thats great!

Those guys over there are the biggest assholes on the planet. I did a school report on file-sharing, and wow... Seriously, going out and stealing an old womans purse on the street is less morally reprehensible then some of the things the RIAA does.

I was more talking about when using public sites like mininova when I said just remove it so it doesn't seed not necessarily a private community that has a ratio check or anything.

No even in a public community you should seed. It keeps the music going. I am not saying keep the seed open for hours upon hours, but at least seed until your ratio is one or download files overnight and let them seed until morning, which can give you an awesome ratio. The bottom line is that if it is that popular to the point where the RIAA will find you, use blogs. I use torrents only for metal related stuff because it is pretty popular among metal fans, at least from what I have observed. Punk tends to be on blogs and SlSK. If I were to ever download a pop album I wouldn't do a torrent anyways, and if I did there would be no point in seeding because there will probably be over a hundred seeds meaning the download times would not be bad at all. I am more or less talking about ones under 20 seeds where people download and leave. That pisses me off.

Yeah but frankly I wouldn't take any chances with seeding an RIAA affiliated album.

That is where I found the Ghostship EP though. Only place I could find it.
I hate torrents, but I usually don't find slsk bad.
