yeah but what YOU meant by "premade" was specially crafted, engineered and manufactured simply to be a hit, without any real artistic integrity or innovation. so you were right.

the point being that there were a lot of creative bands in mainstream chart-topping popular music in the 60s/70s. that's clearly not true of today.

Thats because rock and roll was fairly new then, and genres were just emerging. Pretty much anything you can imagine has been done these days.
