um, well how about making a coherant point rather than some dim-witted comment. 'burn' the counter argument to the ground. Lennon and McCartney stated publicly that their songwriting partnership had ended before Ed Sullivenm therefore, before 'Beatlemania', which is the point I was countering. Apparently John Lennon and Paul McCartney's own words have been 'burned to the ground' by some 12 year old on a net forum, yah?

I'd say that Ringo contributed far more to the music composition than drummers usually do.
Ringo was a good drummer. He was already a local celebrity before he even joined The Beatles. |

really, what better evidence than John Lennon and Paul McCartneys own words are there, that they had ended their songwriting partnership before Beatlemania? After all, they are the parties in the partnership, they have no reason to lie about it, and yet they have claimed it was over.

They have also claimed that they didn't. So it's sort of up in the air. Personally I feel that their earlier work combined their later distinctive writing style.

"We wrote a lot of stuff together, one on one, eyeball to eyeball. Like in 'I Want To Hold Your Hand,' I remember when we got the chord that made the song. We were in Jane Asher's house, downstairs in the cellar playing on the piano at the same time. And we had, 'Oh you-u-u/ got that something...' And Paul hits this chord, and I turn to him and say, 'That's it!' I said, 'Do that again!' In those days, we really used to absolutely write like that—both playing into each other's noses."
There you go.

Well John and Paul said it themselves that they wrote more songs individually than they did as a team. I don't know why we're even debating this.
