The Beatles are a great band. But, The Beatles are an over-rated band.

Ok really cut the shit. Even if The Beatles are overrated [they're not] it can't be that much. You know why? They're a great band and great bands desevere a lot of credit and they get it.

So Elivis, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams are not good? Thats what you're saying by your logic. I disagree.

What makes me alugh about Music Banter is that we'll always compare them to the Rolling Stones but a band that had more in common with the Beatles, Like the Beach Boys, a band that is arguably just as good if not better, never gets brought up.

Say what you will about Lennon/McCartney, but Brian Wilson was out pacing them as just one man.

After hearing Pet Sounds, The Beatles were so impressed they made Sgt. Peppers. And when Wilson heard that album, he was gutted.
The beginning of the end for Wilson.

Lets throw in Ray Davies, if we are name dropping.
Every bit as good, half as recognised.

I`d take Village Green Preservation Society over Pet Sounds & Sgt Pepper anyday.

Not Exile On Main Street though

I'll take the Kinks over every 60's band, unless it's live.
Stones everytime.

Village Green Preservation Society...case in point.

Top avvy Urb...

Sgt Peppers has never really turned me on, its only little bits that shine for me (the intro, 'A Day In The Life'). The White Album is great, as is Abbey Road. Help! has found a place in my heart lately as well.

Revolver is my fav, pop music at its best, catchy yet pushing boundaries.

Default The Beatles

anyone here heard it? apparently supposed to be pretty cool. for those who don't know, beatles producer george martin remixed 20 odd beatle songs and put em on a "new" album called 'love'. seems interesting. ill buy it in a couple days or so and post what i think because everyone here is obviously dieing to know my thoughts on it.

i was hoping i could get some previews there. didnt.

They have been re-enhanced.

In other words regurgitated.

The cynic in me can't help, but think it has something to do with all music recorded, after a period of 50 years, becomes public property.

Expect more of the same in the near future.

I don't like these sorts of albums, they really bug me. Regurgitation is a good word for it, RT.

So let me see if i`ve got this right.

When Phil Spector added loads of stuff to the Let It Be album when it was being recorded it`s a bad thing and it wasn`t how the album was supposed to have sounded hence the Let It Be Naked album.

And now this?

Bollocks.
