I'm really looking forward to hearing his new album. Just a week left now. I liked both Suit & Tie and Mirrors. I hope the rest of the album will be in a similar style as the two singles, and that more of the songs get as much time to vibe out as Mirrors did, with the last half of the song.

edit: It was pretty much how I wanted it to be. I think the average song length on this album is like 7 minutes.

I love the whole album for this reason. The two shorter tracks just aren't as good as the other long ones that you get to vibe out to.

Let the Groove Get In is definitely one of my faves, it has an off the wall feel to it with more latin flavor to it.

dunno if it's too early to say for definite, but I'm going to put it out there
the 20/20 experience is a game changer. It might actually be an instant classic.

Instant classic might be stretching it some and there was a review I read calling it album of the year which is pretty ridiculous at the beginning of the year.

I hear that he's releasing another 10 tracks in the fall for a part two and that will make it the full 20/20 experience.

I don't think he's going to gain any young fans with this album since it doesn't have that many "dance" type tracks and some people are calling it boring.

Yeah. I think much of it is pretty boring indeed. I disagree about it being a classic (as you could probably tell from my review), but there are some really beautiful parts of the album. Thing is, they'll probably just appeal to older fans. I do think he can attract a new audience with the 20/20 experience, but you're right, DJ, they are not going to be young people.

yeah, track by track review. I argue irrelevance.

It's more ambitious than any record I've heard from a true 'pop' artist in some time, I don't really think JT's all about the kids. Sexyback doesn't strike me as the type of tune oriented at the younger market. So that's a pretty mute point to make.
The album lets tracks breathe extremely well and has an odd replay ability to it.

Also, I had also heard the second part is due November.

I never suggested JT was about kids, but Future Sex/Love Sounds catered to teenagers. This one, in my opinion, does not.

I made the comment about the young fans because of what you had in your review near the end. I did read it and was going to mention all my disagreements about certain tracks but I didn't want to crap all over your review when I was too lazy to do a similar review.

Timbaland's touch was heavily noticed on a few tracks and I feel like he helped put the album over the top. The album is just more of a sophisticated feel to it that will hardly appeal to teens/early 20s crowd like Future Sex did.
