Default John Petrucci Appreciation

I searched and nothing came up. So this is dedicated to John Petrucci

I appreciate John Petrucci becuase he's a fine influence to young guitar players. But I think that Dream Theatre isn't enough for him. He has much more experience with guitar that he could belong somewhere much more experienced.

I've seen it a lot. John Petrucci is the only person i've seen who does the "leg thing" on stage to help him with his solos and guitar rifs.

I personally really enjoy listening to him.

Any thoughts?

Link to Dream Theater (John Petrucci - Guitarist)

I recommend
-Constant Motion
and
Strange Deja Vu

You know, he's not my cup of tea but with all these amazingly techinical players I wish I could hear them play something slower. Any recommendations? Speed seems to be too much of an attraction, but sustained notes are just as beautiful.

there is Rise Against, Bright Eyes, oh Feist has a slow paced guitarist as well.

check out Goodnight Kiss. He plays is rather slowly.

and if you want to just hear the instruments and not the vocals even though Petrucci plays fast, check out the Instrumedly of Dream Theater. its amazing.

Yeah i've heard it and i really enjoy it if im trying to get away from some of the stuff that DT brings out now. But there 2007 album is pretty good i must say. Petrucci puts a lot of effort in there new album

James LaBrie. I agree though Merkaba, Petrucci is much more experienced in music than LaBrie. But that's my opinion. Im sure a lot of you enjoy LaBrie. I just find him too...non-satisfying to say the least.

Petrucci's solo album is really the only album where you can see his skill. With Dream Theater I feel that sometimes he plays with no soul, and that annoys me.
