Has anybody here mentioned Blitzen Trapper, Wild Mountain Nation? I think this was unquestionably one of the best albums of the year, but I've found it's received so very little attention. I'm curious to see if anybody else here got round to checking it out.

I have and it hasn't made a very good impression on me. I seem to recall some very annoying screaming going on amidst the country version of The Shins.....not my cup of tea.

I have, I think I even made a thread on it. It's some enjoyable stuff but one of the best albums of 2007? Nah.

Eh, I thought it was definitely top 50 material anyway. The sort of fractured, ecclectic, lo-fi pop I really like. I think they have a lot of good to offer.
