Michael Armstrong's Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Rendition of... <INSERT BAND>
I've been buying them for my soon-to-arrive daughter. They're nice to the ear. |

Although his lyrics sometimes mainly cringe, I'm getting into some of Kanye's albums like My beautiful dark twisted fantasy, and Yeezus. On the other hand I've been replaying James Blake's album Overgrown over and over again. Mount Kimbie and King Krule recently just released some good stuff too.

It's redundant to say that any Coltrane album is exceptional, but this one especially has had me by the balls lately. This album features both Rashied Ali and Elvin Jones on drums, Jimmy Garrison on double bass, McCoy Tyner on piano, and Pharoah Sanders joins Coltrane on tenor sax. Sanders and Coltrane have great chemistry and I love the Pharoah's screechy sax input on this one, which I've heard has pushed some people not to like the album. On the free jazzier side of things, this Coltrane album is impeccable. |
