Well Radioactive is the best of the lot no doubt, but its also the most different of them all.

All the rest of the songs in their album sound totally different in comparison with Radioactive. I can go so far so as to say that Radioactive could have been from a totally different artist altogether if one didnt know it was by Imagine dragons.

Also, I always advise against listening a whole album in one go. It's not a movie. You are bound to get bored of the 'sound' of the album if you do that.

Let me suggest you a few songs from Night Visions that you should hear again,

Bleeding Out
The River
Working Man
On top of the world
Nothing left to say now

Each of this song is so unique in itself, and still miles apart from Radioactive.

P.S. Of course all of this is IMO. In the end, to each his own. I hate death metal and Thrash. :P

You'll notice that a lot of the members around here are album listeners and that is advice that we would never give to other people. If an album is put together properly then you should be able to enjoy it in its entirety and not get bored of it. It might not be a movie but it should be able to hold your attention throughout the entire body of work. You should be able to listen to an album in one sitting and get the full desired effect that the artist wanted to portray.

I will check out those specific singles though and see if they are my cup of tea.

Her debut LP from 2010 is a good place to go but the False Hopes EP from 2005 is easily her best work. Her 2011 remix album Castor, the Twin is another good one, although it has a more lounge/ spoken word feel to it.

I've only listened to Parts of Speech once and while it was okay it really didn't set my world on fire like I was kind of hoping it would.

*shels - Plains of the Purple Buffalo (2011)

Spotify recommended this beautiful post-rock/metal album and it is currently putting my mind in a very happy place.

*shels is an awesome band and one of the few post-rock bands I can actually listen to in the car. You should definitely give their 2007 album Sea of the Dying Dhow a listen, although it's noticeably more heavy.

I definitely will check that one out right away. I am so in love with this album right now, but I think something a bit more heavy would be just as amazing.

I've probably been listening to this album too much, it's just so good. They are such good song writers, really smooth stuff and great lyrics.

So fresh and so clean, clean. Listen to it can't's.

I know 'thats the way to do it' and I dont argue against it.

May be I wasnt clear in putting my point across, which is, that just because an album cant impress you 'as a whole'- should not mean that you miss out on the specific singles within it. Which is in direct reference to your case with their album 'Night Visions'.

I believe that Music is a very sensitive object. Everything else around you and inside you at the moment of listening a 5 min song affects how you perceive the song at that moment in time. Much like poetry!

I hated dub step right until the moment I started loving it! Humans are odd!

My god I am losing my mind for this. Exactly the album I needed to hear this week. Special thanks to Exo for introducing me.
