Overall Lonely Island never fails to disappoint me. I just eat up a large majority of what they make and have fun while listening to it.

Before the album came out I kept playing Go Kindergarten to death basically and now that I have this album I skip over that track for the much more favorable Hugs single. The first half of the album is most of the singles that they released for Whack Wednesdays leading up to the release date. The second half after the NY interlude is kind of hit or miss but they still make me chuckle.

Too Far To Care- Old 97's

Nice little album with a bit of a country rock feel to it. Reminds me of Wilco kind of. Has a lot of creative writing to it and an overall good feeling album. Really good for summer evenings or long road trips. Released in 1997 it was their third overall album but their first on Elektra Records and Miler (the bands lead singer) really wrote some complex but interesting lyrics. Recommended for any fans of alternative country.

I listened to Belle and Sebastian's If You're Feeling Sinister recently and I was pleasantly surprised. It's an incredible work of song writing from beginning to end.

^ Belle and Sebastian are lovely. Do listen to The Life Pursuit if you haven't already - it contains most of my favorite B&S tracks. If I ever made a list of top 100 favorite songs "Dress Up In You" would probably be placed highly.

I've recently returned to Blur, myself, and have spent much of my past few days listening to 13. I'll never forgive myself for the time I said Oasis was better than Blur, and to be honest I blame myself for Sweet Nothing's disappearance shortly afterward.

Blur - 13

I've also been giving a lot of attention to albums from the Antlers and the Dodos. I ****ing adored both the Antler's Hospice and the Dodo's Visitor when each were released, but then I kind of forgot about the bands and didn't pay attention to their more recent releases, so I'm doing my best to make up for it.

The Antlers - Burst Apart

The Dodos - No Color

I tried so hard to enjoy the Antler's second album, but it's nothing like Hospice and for that reason alone, I never found the quality in it. I tried many times though, all to no avail.

Ah, really? That's too bad. It's definitely nothing like Hospice but I still find it to be full of quality songwriting. Standout tracks for me (as anyone who has been in plug.dj with me can probably tell you) are:

Talking An african perspective.

Guess much from here don't listen to african stuff but mine from an african perspective

MI - MI2
Ice Prince - Everybody loves ice prince.
Snoop Lion - Doggy Style (a bit old but still hits the spot)
Eminem - Marshall mathers LP, The Eminem Show.

Still makes me laugh.

Alamo Race Track - Birds at Home (2003)
I've posted about this band before, but they still remain pretty unknown in the indie world. For shame! This, their debut, somehow sounds like the most mature of the bunch. I think they went through some lineup changes so the vocals differ on this and the second album, versus their third, which sounds a bit more Indie Folk. But I like them all for different reasons. Anyway back to this, a slow burner that I've been enjoying for a while and just seems to get better with each listen. If you're a fan of Built to Spill, earlier Modest Mouse (meaning not We Were Dead...), earlier The Shins, recent Arcade Fire, etc. do yourself a favor and get into this band.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

As big a fan as I am of Blur, I just could never get into 13. In fact, it's just about the only album of theirs that I really don't enjoy that much. Including Think Tank (which if some will remember is an unpopular opinion of mine). I think it's overly long and while I appreciate how experimental it is, it just never clicks with me. And I've tried...a lot.
