Haven't heard of that one, but thank you for reminding me that Brand Nubian is a band I've completely overlooked over the years. I'm downloading In God We Trust right now.

He's talking about The Brand New.

The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me

Ah. Heard the name, don't really know them. I do like that photo though.

I am, however, seriously happy this thread reminded me of Brand Nubian. I'm listening to their album In God We Trust at this very moment and I have to say it's exactly the kind of music I've been in the mood for lately.

Hahaha I enjoyed that exchange between you and Slow and Groove.

Related: Devil and God is one of my favorite albums. I'm enjoying it at least monthly.

Hmm... not bad. Definitely an improvement on the song I just listened to on YouTube by them as a result of this thread.

I think they wrote some amazing melodies and used the soft/loud/Pixies dynamic very well. Also, it was a very important album during a very important time in my life.

Heh. I was just looking at the track listing. Is "Degausser" their answer to "Debaser"?

But seriously, I may have to check it out at some point based on your recommendation. Not to mention the song RVCA posted seemed to have a bit of a Church influence to it which I certainly appreciated.

A lot of people shelf it because it's associated with the whole mid-00s indie/emo/scene fad, but if anything worthwhile came of that period, it was this album.

I'd say that if you like The Moon & Antarctica, you'll like this. These albums are cousins in my mind.
