Allan Holdsworth - Sand Just discovering/making the effort to listen to this guys work. So beautiful. Hearing this is his best album - which wouldn't surprise me - but I hope his other albums stack up as I keep digging. |

https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...4DUns84Y2BL62w Elliott Brood - Ambassador This was nice, but not totally gripping me. An album I am likely to return to because I usually grow into this Alt-Country style, although I wish it was more Goth tinged. |
There seems to be a bit of a tonal shift after the 5th or 6th track. I think their sophomore album Mountain Meadows is more consistent, but lacks the dark and dreary atmosphere of the first few songs from Ambassador.

Yeah, I loved the first few tracks. It's a good album overall though.
Also, this Bill Laswell (a collective known as Material, in fact) album is good, if a little too clustered for me to really go crazy for it. |
This is ****ing awesome!
Anubis Gate - Purification http://www.metal-archives.com/images...39554.jpg?0015 This band is evidently a mixture of power metal and prog, but it does so in a really nice way. It's not too overpowering, but you can definitely see the prog and power metal influence. Definitely a worthy album to check out. |

Helloween - Straight Out of Hell FAR FAR FAR FAR more fun than it deserves to be |

Person Pitch - Panda Bear Side project from someone in Animal Collective, I forget who. It's pretty fantastic, sonically one of the best albums i've heard in a really long time. |
