Tycho - Dive (2011) This guy is totally ripping off Boards of Canada, and I'm totally okay with it! He's doing it right. Dreamy downtempo with chilled beats and spacey reverb with sounds that are straight out of Campfire Headphase. |

I've ignored this guy for pretty much his entire career because of this, even though I found his first album well done. But in light of BoC not actually releasing any new material in ages, we should all be thanking him. At least the BoC fanboys should be, rather than criticizing him.

Pile - Dripping (2012) I posted this in the latest download/listens thread already, but it reached "digging" status very quickly and now on my third listen, I figured I'd mention it here. It's essentially indie/post-hardcore with a touch of grunge, I suppose. It's probably enough to call it a slice of late 90s/early 00s post-hardcore. I enjoy it much more than Cloud Nothings' 2012 album, and also Sleepie's Weird Wild World, as they're both related in style and from the same year. I realized the vocals at times remind me of Bear vs. Shark, too.

Del the Funky Homosapien - Deltron 3030 I hate when I put off an album that's really great for so long that when I finally listen to it I'm kicking myself for it. Well at least I know it now, and I am not disappointed. There was one point where I was very stoned and drunk about to fall asleep and 3030 blew my mind. It's just as good sober too. Damn my prolonging this listen though.

MF DOOM - Mm..Food This album is pretty damn tight. I may have to listen to it a couple more times to understand it more though.
