The best 20th century Hip Hop album, partly because of Gift of Gab's rapping skillz and the best damn production ever

Fire! - You Liked Me Five Minutes Ago Great free jazz from Swedish musicians Mats Gustafsson, Fender Rhodes, Johan Berthling, and Andreas Werliin. I'm only familiar with the work of Gustafsson and Berthling, but damn this group works. The use of the Hammond organ adds a psychedelic tinge to this modern free jazz work and Gustafsson doesn't go overboard like he can sometimes (although that's one thing that I like about him). I've been on quite the free jazz kick lately, and this one's a keeper.

Grimes - Visions (2012) I don't know why I slept on this album for so long, I'm really enjoying it. It's incredibly poppy and uplifting, and it's somehow found a way to penetrate my usual bitterness and drown out the voices that keep me miserable. This may even end up on my top 10. |

Haha, thats what I'm listening to at this very moment.
I'm not sure what to make of it yet. It's rather varied, which certainly is a good thing. However it just means I'm changing my mind from track to track. Needs time to sink in, I think. |

Yeah I've noticed that as well. I don't mind that all that much though, it creates some interesting juxtaposition and makes repeated listens a must, rather than using catchy hooks like most pop music.
