MechWarrior 2: Soundtrack Hot damn I forgot what a good video game soundtrack this game had. My dad actually bought a joystick so this game would control better and remember having a lot of fun playing it, I'm surprised how many memories this soundtrack is bringing back, I figure I would have drank/smoked them away by now. |

Caravan Palace—s/t (2008) I really have to thank Gunnels for turning me on to these guys. They describe themselves as electroswing, which works well enough as a descriptor I guess, though they're really more like electro gypsy jazz. They sound sort of like an updated version of "Lucas with the Lid Off" which is definitely a compliment. If the concept of jazz retrofuturism in jazz appeals to you, they're worth a listen. |

This album isn't exactly mind blowing, revolutionary, very influential, and not even close to Coltrane's best... but it's Coltrane, so it's still really, really good. Good ol' fashioned bebop released in 1964. Good solos from all musicians involved. Definitely a good listen for any jazzheads.
