Fleetwood Mac - Tusk

Tusk has always rubbed me the right way, but man...the past few days I've found myself listening to the whole thing a couple times. The production is wonderful, and the songs are lovely. Much more interesting to me than Rumours.

I prefer it over Rumours too, but I have my Tusk playlist distilled down to six amazing songs.

Shabazz Palaces, Black Up. I've listened to this before, several times in fact, but it's finally clicked with me all the way. Off-kilter, experimental hip hop with an African flare. Butterfly's voice is high-pitched, almost to the point of being screechy, but it really works well. And those weird, minimalist beats... fanfreakingtastic. So yeah, I don't see this going off of rotation any time soon.

Is one of them "What Makes You Think You're the One"? That's probably my favorite song on that album.

I agree with you, it was a damn good album from last year and certainly one I would want to own on vinyl and listen to on a sweet sound system.

Aesop Rock - Labor Days

This, and Marlboro Reds, are completing my life. Seriously, if "Daylight" is not played at my funeral I will haunt some fucker.

Have you checked out the Daylight EP as well? The song "Nightlight" on that is a pretty sweet yin to to "Daylight"s yang.

I have, but the files I have don't scrobble to last.fm unfortunately. Amazing stuff. Love "Nightlight".

Edit: Just downloaded a new version. Getting that shit scrobbled.

Cloudkicker - Fade

New album from one of my favorite artists. Atmospheric djent/groove metal. If you like even the slightest of this song check out his bandcamp. All his albums are downloadable for free and they're all fantastic.
