Andrew Jackson Jihad/Ghost Mice split. Good ol' folk punk. I'm slowly beginning to fall in love with AJJ. Their craziness, hilarious lyrics, and intensity all mixes together into a terribly fun package. Russian Circles, Station. More post-metal from these guys, more awesomeness. This lies a bit more on the "post" side than the "metal" side and features a lot of ambient-influenced tracks. The most relaxing metal I've heard to date. Side Brain, On The Second Moon Of Earth. This is... weird. Basically, it sounds like Flying Lotus doing a dubstep album that utilizes a lot of old video game sound effects and what I presume to be samples. My little brother, a huge vintage video game geek, introduced me to his music on Youtube. It's very, very good. Here's a video of him playing a song (not on the album)... on a Sega Dreamcast.

Tindersticks - S/T (1993) I've been aware of this band ever since they started back in the early 90s. I must have owned this album for at least 15 years yet never paid much attention to it at all. Last week I just pretty much pulled it out at random and played it and was blown away at how such an amazing album could sit on my shelf for so long gathering dust. I suppose you want a youtube video or something right?

Queens of the Stone Age, "Songs for the Deaf"
"Desert guitar." Very rocky. Great guitar and bass riffs coupled with Josh Homme's voice. 58, "Diet for a New America" Dark, sad. Distortion. Very vocal-oriented. Nikki Sixx and some other guys. The White Stripes, "the White Stripes" Good ol' unrefined, rough-and-tumble White Stripes. Plenty of distortion. Pendulum, "Hold Your Colour" Drum and Bass. Nothing more needs to be said. Faithless, "Forever Faithless" Singspeak (almost rap) electronic. Considered trance/house music.

Sounds like a mix between My Bloody Valentine and "Siamese Dream". It's good stuff

I played that album quite a lot when it was released 3 years ago. It's very addictive when you get into it. They're not a band I listen to much any more as they're a bit derivative of their influences, namely bands like The Pastels, The Wake, Black Tambourine and The Field Mice. But there's some good tunes on that album.

Yes Belong just as good. The songwriting is a bit more prominent and the production is a lot better (they produced it with Flood and mixed it with Alan Moulder), but it kind of lacks the charm and innocence of their s/t. You should give their Higher Than The Stars EP a listen as well.
