Man I love that Monsta Island Czars album... Poison Windz is one of my favorites. They've got a great style as a group. Too bad they're so slept on.

Hard to believe Ulver used to be a black band metal. These guys defy any sub-genre definition, but I'll say it's trip hoppy and ambient with it's share of loud rock moments. Sometimes the vocals are soulful other times they're chanted, which is the only connection here, to their black metal past.

Blood Inside is a wild album. Good choice.

Somebody here needs to do me a favor and upload a bunch of Ulver to Grooveshark.

Drive Like Jehu - Yank Crime (1994)
A damn good post-hardcore/math rock album. It's angry, passionate, tight and has plenty of unexpected twists and turns. What more could you want?

Lowercase - Kill The Lights (1997)
I'd been listening to their final album The Going Away Present for a couple of months but this is even better. The album has a bit of a claustrophobic feel, especially the 12-minute closing track 'You're a King' which reminds of Swans a little bit. All in all a great noise rock/post-hardcore album.

This is a great album. Ulver have covered a lot of styles and they did them all brilliantly. My favourite album of theirs is Perdition City but their debut Bergtatt is an amazing black metal album.

Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden) and Mikee Goodman (ex. SikTh) whover they are, came up with this side project recently and it's fairly decent metal with an electronic/ Industrial Metal edge.

Steve Harris's (Iron Maiden - again!) side project that has been brewing for years has finally come to fruition. It is certainly nothing special but it is decent Hard Rock refreshingly lacking in the usual cliches. Solid stuff.

Brad Mehldau Trio - Day is Done (2005)
It's taken a minute to grow on me, I think mainly because I have too much unhealthy skepticism towards new school jazz. Just listening to the piano solo from the opening track Knives Out (a Radiohead cover), I've never heard jazz piano played with such a relentless sense of urgency. this trio (piano, drums, and upright bass) is on point, and they definitely put a very fresh and lively spin on the classic jazz piano trio genre.

Not their best one, still a damn fine album from one of the best bands the UK has ever produced. Great stuff including "Here Comes The Weekend" and "News of The World".

TBH, I listen to the Jam a lot more than the Clash...:shycouch:
