They refer to this sort of sound as 'chopped and screwed' Hip Hop. It's a sludgy, distorted mangle of vocal loops, bass heavy beats and ethereal soundscapes. Not the sort of thing I could listen to very often but it's certainly unique and hypnotic. I think Janszoon, loathsome pete and bob would really like this. I won't post any YT vids as it won't do the album justice. Can't wait to hear this on headphones in a dark room.
That sounds really good. Any way you could upload to Grooveshark?

I've known BBC for quite some time but I just gave The Boy I Used To Be a thorough listen through and I'm so disappointed I didn't give it a listen earlier, yet so excited because I have some more music I can play out. Would highly recommend

This is such a great album to play on a Sunday afternoon just sitting around watching football or something. Can't say there was a track on this album I would skip if it were up to me. Nothing really blew me away, but the album kept a steady consistency. I'd recommend tracks like Liberal Arts, All Day Today, and Argonauts

Black Flag, Loose Nut. Listening to this, the first phrase that pops into my head is "criminally underrated." It's not a hardcore album at all, it's actually a fairly typical hard rock album with elements of metal, and the occasional experimental riff or lick in there to keep it interesting. It's not a great album, but it's quite good, and I've listened to it several times recently.

I'm familiar with Koan actually. I'll have to grab it.

Start doing that every time you post an album in here, it's Albums You're Digging, not the "Post pictures of albums then fuck off to do something else because you're too lazy to say anything about these albums you're apparently digging" thread.

That really chafes my ass. And then we get a smart ass comment like "Oh DAMN haven't you heard of google?".

Would like those in the "What Are You Listening To Right Now? II",
"Last album you bought, downloaded or listened to" threads too?
I have all day to post 36 LPs a day just for you!

OH! ...and on those days when I'm listening on "shuffle",
I'll go ahead and post those 12 dozen to each of those threads as well -
making it...ummm...432 comments.
Sure! I'll get right on it!
I'm confused by your comments. How is it even possible to listen to dozens of albums a day?

Anyway, all we're asking is that people kind of sort of follow the guidelines mentioned in the OP of the thread. Tell us what the album is and say a little something about it. That's all. Surely that's not too much to ask in a thread where that is specifically mentioned in the OP.

Which of those four threads should I post it (or them) in?
Well, the "what are you listening to right now" threads are generally more oriented toward songs, so it wouldn't make sense to post an album there. Beyond that you just do the same thing you'd anytime you encounter some kind of subject matter overlap on a forum: pick the thread that seems to make the most sense and post there.

I was obsessed with this album when I first heard it. Lay Low still has one of the best guitar solo's I've ever heard.
