Yep, love that Black Breath album. As Pete pointed out when in a MuMu session, the bass really stands out - which is great.

I checked out the video above and I thought it sounded alright. I might check the album out.

Good call on Unsane too. I saw them live recently in a tiny, little rock bar. They were incredibly loud.

Devin Townsend Project - Epicloud (2012)

If his 2009 album Ki was his way of telling people that he's a new man, then Epicloud is a reminder. It kind of feels like a conglomeration of the last 4 of his albums with elements from his earlier stuff thrown in for good measure. The album I was most reminded of at first was his 2003 album Accelerated Evolution, which until Addicted! (2009) came out, it was largely decided that Accelerated Evolution was his most accessible album for new fans. The more I listen to this though, the more I'm reminded of his 1997 debut Ocean Machine: Biomech, with it's straight-forward approach, but now more refined by almost over a decade of experience.

I can definitely see why some people are down on this though, and I think they're the same people who are holding out for a more abrasive Devin from his Strapping Young Lad days, and that's just not going to happen again. I heard one person say that Devin Townsend is the My Little Pony of the metal world, which I'm not really sure what they mean by that, but I would wager that they listen to Burzum religiously. Basically if you can get behind an album where fun is the driving factor, I think you'll find a lot to like with Epicloud. I'm not sure if it's AOTY material for me, but it might make into the top ten.

Went to Berlin Festival last weekend and saw a lot of cool acts, but I think Modeselektor was my favorite-- might've had to do with how drunk I was but this track, and quite a few others, were ridiculously fun.

The album is called Monkeytown and it shifts from techno/house to IDM-- it's kind of all over the place, and generally pretty consistent.

Four Tet - Pink: The new Four Tet album dropped a couple weeks ago with me having been out of the loop with what Kieran Hebden had been up to since 2010's There is Love in You. There's a lot more of his signature house/two-step beats than his last release, which dipped in and out of some very post rock-ish moments, while Pink seems quite a bit more beat oriented.

Flying Lotus - Reset (EP): Somehow during my obsession with Flying Lotus' Los angeles album a few years back I managed to gloss over this early release of his. I think it was mainly due to the fact that I'd been fairly unimpressed with the only earlier releases of his that I'd heard, 1983. The LAx3 remix of the Los Angeles album also didn't do too much for me, but coming across Tea Leaf Dancers -- the opening track on Reset -- While checking out my Pandora trip hop station was enough of an impetus to search out album immediately. I still have a hard time getting past the opening track, but as a whole the 6 song EP really is a gem.

Bassnectar - Timestretch: Yeah...guilty, but this is just eardrum destroying fun.

Have you listened to Cosmogramma? Fantastic album, and Fly Lo's best on mine. Need to get hold of that EP.

Cosmogramma is great. It's a bit of a departure from the rest of his stuff, almost having a a cyber jazz feel to it, but I do like it. Oh, and Fly Lo's new album Until the Quiet Comes drops in about 3 weeks, with appearances by Erykah Badu and Thom Yorke, among others. It has 18 tracks! I don't think anything's been leaked yet though.

Yeah its still in the vault. The only snippet i've seen is this bit plus what you've posted along with a short movie that includes snippets of songs.
