Just listened to "The Parable of Arable Land" and "God Bless the Red Krayola and All Who Sails" by Red Krayola. Interesting stuff, but not mind blowing. Two very solid avant-garde/psychedelic rock albums.

Swans - The Great Annihilator Decent record and probably a grower. Solid 3.5/5. |
The Showdown - Blood In The Gears
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg I've only listened to this album a few times since I discovered them a year or two ago. I remember really liking it, and now going back to it, I see why I listened to it again. It's got a clean heavy feel to it, and the album cover is just plain badass. |

DESERT STORM - FORKED TONGUES (2010) Big, fat, sleazy stoner rock riffage with a bit of a Clutch-esque swagger to boot, from the UK. I can see myself spinning this one a lot over the weeks to come. http://www.progarchives.com/progress...5172192010.jpg AGALLOCH - MARROW OF THE SPIRIT (2010) After a rather long period of neglect, I rekindled my love of Agalloch recently and I've been playing this a lot. Atmospheric folk-black metal with a lovely tone and also some pretty decent lyrics once you look into them. |

The Church - Priest=Aura Absolutely loved this album on first listen, and creeping it's way ever so slightly to a 5/5 rating on RYM. |

Their debut (Of Skins and Heart) is also a favourite of mine. Some of the best jangly pop I have heard. One track on that album reminded me of Sally Cinnamon by The Stone Roses (and other songs they did in that style) in terms of the instrumentals, obviously a different vocal style.
