Lowercase - The Going Away Present (1999) Every song on this album is brilliant. Their music shifts from misery and resignation in the vein of bands like Codeine and Red House Painters, to an outpouring of anger and aggression that was simmering underneath. Overall this album is a great mixture of post-hardcore and indie rock and just seems to sound better and better with each listen.

Gonna disagree with you there. This is by far their worst, in my opinion. I really get the vibe that they didn't know the direction they really wanted to head in. It's between the classic mid 80's Rush (Signals, Grace Under Pressure, and Power Windows) and their heavier 90's output (Presto, Roll the Bones, Test For Echo) but doesn't have the good aspects of any of those sides of Rush. It's really tough for me to get through Hold Your Fire.
