Haha, well damn, I was sure I was safe naming 3 bands. I'd agree with Pedestrian...but there's only a touch of shoegaze. It's ultra fuzzy indie garage rock. Like...the Mudhoney sound with Beatles poppiness (*crosses fingers that Jans is a Mudhoney fan*).

Milford Graves, Percussion Ensemble this 1965 release is just percussion. Drums, bells, congas, djembes, who knows what else. It is a landmark in avant garde jazz, and as a drummer, I have to love the crazy beats. World/Inferno Friendship Society, Red Eyed Soul. This is cabaret punk music. Jazz, classical, and punk music all play an influence on this bizarre, fun album. Not a lot to say, it's just very enjoyable.

I'm not sure why, but I put off listening to this for a long time. I kind of regret that, because it's ****ing amazing. I've been digging the beach boys a lot recently, and this is vasically everything the beach boys were, but on steroids. it's much more solid in it's instrumentation, and the newer technology used to rerecord this definitely gave it a helping hand as it has really great production. |

I still have to check out that album with White Fence. I'm sure I'll be doing that soon.
