Haha, well damn, I was sure I was safe naming 3 bands. I'd agree with Pedestrian...but there's only a touch of shoegaze. It's ultra fuzzy indie garage rock. Like...the Mudhoney sound with Beatles poppiness (*crosses fingers that Jans is a Mudhoney fan*).

Milford Graves, Percussion Ensemble this 1965 release is just percussion. Drums, bells, congas, djembes, who knows what else. It is a landmark in avant garde jazz, and as a drummer, I have to love the crazy beats.

World/Inferno Friendship Society, Red Eyed Soul. This is cabaret punk music. Jazz, classical, and punk music all play an influence on this bizarre, fun album. Not a lot to say, it's just very enjoyable.

I'm not sure why, but I put off listening to this for a long time. I kind of regret that, because it's ****ing amazing. I've been digging the beach boys a lot recently, and this is vasically everything the beach boys were, but on steroids. it's much more solid in it's instrumentation, and the newer technology used to rerecord this definitely gave it a helping hand as it has really great production.

I thought the same thing when I finally got around to listening to SMiLE in 2008.

Ty Segall Band - Slaughterhouse

This finally got put on Spotify in all it's intensely fuzzy glory. I am happy.

It's very good. He also has another project out with White Fence. Both pretty great.

Yeah, I've been pretty obsessed with Ty Segall recently. There's something about simple guitar rock with lots of energy that just gets me. Ty Segall has a great ear for poppiness without sacrificing any of the energy. He said he set out to make a record that sounded like satan in space...It definitely sounds like that. This will be up there with my best of 2012 albums by the end of the year, I'm sure.

I still have to check out that album with White Fence. I'm sure I'll be doing that soon.
