I've been listening to Perfume Genius's "Put Your Back N 2 It" recently. Pretty good album, if I do say so myself.

Black Light Ascension - Ashes

duel synth and duel bass.....this is what it would sound like if CopShootCop tried a darkwave album after their first release....very dark and brooding but at the same time somewhat melodic and very listenable.....i could see this band touring quite well with the likes of Killing Joke and or Hateful Abandon (yes Lee i am looking right at you! )....just different enough to be a nice compliment to both bands

check em out

Arriving Somewhere But Not Here has to be one of the best songs ever made.

A band full of wizards, this bunch. Then again, how else can one explain the ability to conjur the estranged souls of Roy Orbison, Johnny Mathis and early 70's Beach Boys in the space of one or two songs unless there's magic involved?

2012 just keeps getting better.

Bong - Mana Yood-Sushai (2012)

Local doom metal band who have, over the last few years, been quickly gathering momentum and exposure. Off the enhanced success of the major release of their set at Roadburn Festival in Holland in 2010 and 2011s "Beyond Ancient Space', this year the band released what could very well be their finest work to date. The band has expanded from three to five members over time, adding a second guitar, really freeing up opportunity for a more prominent use of effects, and a sitar player. The result is a hypnotic trance-like exploration of doom, Hawkwind-like psychedelica, Sunn 0)))-esque drone and a band who, with time, continue to perfect their craft.

I prefer Lateralus and Undertow over Aenima, but Aenima is still a damn good album.
