Valen Hsu Lu Yuen - Sea of Tears (aka Tear Sea)
i didn't like this much when i first got it, but after my trip, i really love it now Mando-Pop (Female singer) - she apes Kate Bush a bit, which i find irritating, cos she ought to just stick to her own delivery style |

Pay particular attention to the 17-minute live version of Rollercoaster, it drags you down the rabbit hole. |

Some very addicting Pop Punk/Indie Rock. Not too much to say about it, I just really dig the songwriting. Pretty much all the songs on here are catchy as hell, but particularily the song "I Don't Believe You", which Violent and Funky posted. Really catchy chord progression, and I love the female back up vocals. |

Pallbearer - Sorrow and Extinction (2012) Following the success of bands like Ghost, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, and Blood Ceremony comes yet another band bringing back an old school sounding doom metal sound with a modern touch. Pallbearer are probably the heaviest out of the ones I've listed, they remind me a lot more of Cathedral or Candlemass, with a touch of stoner metal thrown in. Strangely enough they also showcase some NWOBHM influences that you don't often see in this genre, so that's pretty cool. Definitely an album I think we'll still be talking about later on towards the years end. |

Awright so 90s throwback bands generally turn me off in a big way but I decided to listen to the new one by Cloud Nothings.
I listened to it and kind of cringed at some of the vocals and other parts but... I listened to it again. And then again. And again. And I will listen again soon. This means I'm fully digging it.
