whimsical breezy synth-pop with pretty cool melodies kinda fits my mood atm also:- http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg say what you want about deathcore (not being a valid sub-genre or somesuch), but i found this one massively enjoyable, much more so than "The Black Crown" |

Iceage - New Brigade (2011) I got this album fairly early into 2011 when I was just grabbing whatever looked interesting to hold me over till the albums I really was anticipating came out. While I enjoyed it enough on the first listen to keep it, I didn't revisit it very often, despite seeing it talked about later on. I even passed up the opportunity to see them when they came to town last year, which I am kicking myself in the ass for, because I honestly do not remember this album sounding this... intense. Now it's not intense like a metal album, but as far as post-punk goes, it's really up there with just this unrelenting "in-your-face" attitude that I find really welcoming right now. |
Loving Lana Del Reys album! Despite the reviews!

Dr. Dog-Be the Void is their best album. Mostly poppy and just a little weird. It seems like they're continuing to grow as musicians which always really nice to see.
best tracks: That Old Black Hole, These Days, How Long Must I Wait, Do the Trick, Heavy Light worst track: Warrior Man |

I had to start with the best, and it is good, heavy punk album that lives up to it's name. I'll be checking out the first two soon. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg After wanting more of the glitch and fast drums that Aphex Twin had to offer, I decided to open up the Drum and Bass genre, this was one of the first suggested, and I am not at all disappointed. I'm sure I saw this in someones journal, but I always kick myself for getting to it months later. http://img.noiset.com/images/album/b...ork-54640.jpeg Man this is deep, I don't know why. fantastic album, listen to this one loud. |
@DocSoft Just getting into 3030 now? Sheesh! Better late than never, though... I heard it when I was in high school also, though, so I guess it's a good 'time' for it. Can't expect you to be getting into Deltron when you're like 6 lol...
@Lone Misfit, Refused and Burial ... top notch. I'm really digging Sound Tribe Sector 9's Peaceblaster, because I couldn't find a copy of their newest release but wanted to check them out. Finally got a copy of Optimus Rhyme's School the Indie Rockers, after only having odd tracks here and there. It's pretty sweet and he's pretty fast for nerdcore hiphop. Lots of hits in my book. Del tha Funkee Homosapien's new mixtape (that's an 'album', right?) West Coast Avengers. Plenty of tracks and plenty enjoyable, if not a bit short at 32 minutes. |

NOT the Twee band (who I can't stand) but the U.S band who fuse Post Hardcore and Shoegaze and even keyboards!. Album is To Change The Shape of an Envelope. |

think Nick Cave meets Bauhaus gothic rock and not gothic "metal" |
