Not the best in his discography, but easily his darkest album and one of the most tortured sounding. Basically it has everything people like about Nick Cave, but he really does let himself go a little in the lyrics, especially on the song "O'Malley's Bar", just hear for yourself.

easily my fave Nick Cave at the mo'

Finally got around to listening to Laughing Stock and Spirit of Eden by Talk Talk. Laughing Stock stands out a little bit more to me. I love the sparse, ambient production on this album, slightly jazzy undertones and soulful vocals. It's such a beautiful-sounding album and seems to occupy a rare place in music along with Hex by Bark Psychosis.
pretty underrated, i think it's just as good as "Spirit of Eden"

Universal Totem Orchestra - The Magus

There is NOTHING like good Zeuhl, and this album is mind-blowingly good Zeuhl. Up their in leagues with Eskaton's '4 Visions', and Jannick Top's 'Infernal Machina'. I'd say even better than even those. Comparable to much of the best of Magma, even.

Absolutely fell in love with this album from beginning to end. True masterpiece.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

Being a very odd person I followed the link to them you put in the shoutbox, and have just spent the last three quarters of an hour listening to them. The choral arrangements are extremely original, and I'm finding them quite an enjoyable listen.

If I remember correctly, this was our favourite:

What are you talking about? Their other 1967 album, Da Capo, is just as enjoyable as Forever Changes.

I actually downloaded and listened to this because you reminded me that it has been on my to-listen-to list for ages (thank you). Oh, and its special/unique "music place" is also occupied by the album 69 by A.R. Kane (I highly recommend you check it out if you haven't already).

It's ok. There's no way it even holds a candle to Forever Changes, though.

Awesome. Yeah I've been meaning to check out A.R. Kane as well, I'll get right on it. Cheers!
