Brubeck is good stuff. I have a "best of" of his and that's it though, thanks for reminding me I need to rectify that situation. I'll have to check out Time Out.

Der Blutharsch and the Infinite Church Etc. - A Collaboration

This is a great psych rock album that never meanders or wanks too much. It's dark and heavy without being suffocatingly so. Bob, you were right.

Bobb Trimble - Iron Curtain Innocence
If you don't know the story about this album here's a brief history of it.
In 1980 Bobb records this amazing psyche album and puts it out himself. Nobody buys it, he records another, nobody buys that either , he dumps all the unsold copies of his albums in a skip (dumpster for all you American readers) and he gives up on music.
Fast forward 30 years someone at some ultra hip indie label hears these albums and decides to re-release them. Everybody declares them works of a genius.
Don't know if he's a genius or not but this is one weird album and I loved every minute of it. Now i'm going to check out his other album.


Ladytron - Softcore Jukebox
I used to like Ladytron quite a lot but they've fallen off my radar in recent years. This is a mix album from 2003 I seemed to have missed. Has The Fall & Wire on it, the couple of Ladytron tracks on it are pretty good and I seemed to have picked up at least 4 or 5 bands from this I've never heard of I want to check out some more of.

Gram Parsons - Grievous Angel
Been meaning to check out this for years but never got around to it, probably because it's a country album. But I finally got the balls to listen to it, loved it, checked out his G.P. album the following day and loved that also. I think Gilded Palace Of Sin is next on my list.

Th' Faith Healers - L'
This band have sort of crept up on me a lot recently, I've been aware of them for years and never really paid much attention to them other than the occasional listen, lately I have been finding myself listening to them more and more. This is a compilation of their early singles & EPs.

You are the only person I've seen say this... And I gotta say the album is total crap in my opinion. What do you like about it? Maybe I can see a healthy respect for it... But their best? I'm pretty sure it can be universally agreed on that they did much better work elsewhere. Not to mention the presence of a completely blatant Kinks rip off.

The Soft Parade is my favourite Doors album too

King Black Acid - Womb Star Sessions

Consists of four 10+ minute tracks, and every one of them engages your attention from the first note to the last. Smoky, meditative psychedelic compositions rich in atmosphere, fusing traditional rock instrumentation with ethereal sound manipulations and raga influences.

I recently discovered Primus, and my god, it's pure bass porn. I wish I could slap like Claypool did. He must have spent years obsessively practicing.

Then I'll ask you, too... Why?

Because I'm a sucker for 60s lounge pop with big strings and this was them trying to do something a bit different than usual by doing something like that. And also because of that I find it a lot more interesting than their usual rock output, which I do happen to like also.

The only song I really dislike on the album is Easy Ride because it's more like a poor version their usual stuff and sticks out like a sore thumb.

Also Touch Me might be my favourite Doors song ever.
