Big Blood - Sew Your Wild Days Tour Vol I

Great freak folk album, bizarre and engaging in equal measure. It's unhinged and veers off down unexpected paths, but there's a faint whiff of a pop sensibility amongst it all too. There's also an inspired version of Can's Vitamin C in there, which is worth the download alone, but the whole thing is strong from start to finish. Space Gallery Jan. 27, 2007 / Sahara Club Jan. 28, 2007 is the shit too... Really good band. I know a couple of people have mentioned them before, so I may be a little late to the table.

It'll be quick and painless (I promise).

Oh, and I'm happy to see that you discovered Big Blood, Stu. They're a fantastic (and unfortunately, underrated) folk group. Can't say that that's my favorite album of theirs, though.

I Lucifer - The Real Tuesday Weld

Definitely one of the more interesting things I've heard in a while. Continuing on my cabaret kick, this had a big Vaudevillian influence, but was really unique in that it combined it with a bit of everything. Electronic loops, a bit of britpop that really reminded me of Blur, jazz influences, and I even heard some reggae influences in there. Favourite tracks were The Show Must Go On, The Life and Times of the Clerkenwe, and The Ugly and the Beautiful.

I'm really digging AOL's Party Like It's 1999 album. I mean, who can forget this perennial forebearer to modern dubstep?

Solace - 13

Awesome stoner metal that sounds very Sabbathy. Don't let the awkward cover art scare you away
