Album digging

"Rubber Soul" by the Beatles. The album gives a very pleasant sound.

this was a side project of members of Amebix.....this is amazingly original and good....a perfect blend of kind of dark post punk and crust/d-beat fury.....i wish i had found this a bit earlier

The Pink Fairies - Never Never Land (1971)

If there were more hard rock bands like this, I daresay the 70s as we know it wouldn't have happened. Resembles the emergence of one of the progeny of proto-punk through the veil of a Dave Brock-esque sense of humour... Seriously, how can you resist these riffs?

This affirms my faith in the indulgences of the '70s.

Yet another band Justin Broadrick was involved with and I forgot how damn good this is. Imagine a less heavy Godflesh with John Zorn esque Jazz work (he was involved with them too). If you like Naked City and/or Godfelsh then you will love this.

i'm still in the process of disgesting Jesu and the rest of the Godflesh i didn't get last time

Pure X - Pleasure

A great debut from these guys. The Austin scene has been pumping out some pretty decent music this year. I wouldn't go so far as to say this is post rock...more like post indie. The songs are very floaty and dreamlike, but still interesting enough to keep your attention. I'll be keeping my eye on these guys for sure.

Thanks for posting this. I was able to get my hands on the album at a flea market and I loved it. I especially enjoyed the tracks Dream Over and Voices. The whole album kind of has a Lo-fi quality to it without seeming like they're trying to hard. I found it really engaging.

Aye, that's good album! Didn't I send that to you a couple years ago? If you're enjoying God, I have another band you might like: Combat Astronomy. I got one of their albums, Flak Planet, over the summer and thought it was pretty good. Here's one of the tracks from it:

You supplied me with a lot of Broadrick related stuff and I'm in one of my retro phases where I am revisiting stuff on my HD that I really should listen to more.

Liking that track too :)

Ghosts and Vodka - Addicts and Drunks

The guitar on this album is absolutely gorgeous.

already shaping up to be one of my fave live albums

nice renditions of well-known studio stuff, a couple of unreleased songs, and some songs from the "lost" album

Morpheme - Red Dog EP

I was perusing the shoegaze blogs and stumbled across their song "Red Dog". It really got stuck in my head and I couldn't find this EP anywhere, so I just bought the thing. For fans of Curve, Dean Garcia is in the band. I can't wait for a full length from these guys.
