Of Mice & Men - The Flood
Wasn't very familiar with their self-titled debut, but I was looking for something heavier and a friendly recommendation was enough to make me give it a shot. I use to stay away from any music containing screaming, but for some reason this one hooked me. There was enough clean vocals to keep me listening and by the end of the record I had it on loop.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - By The Way
This was the last of the latest four Peppers' albums that I got around to listening to. Shame on me! Venice Queen and Dosed are easily two of my favorite Peppers' songs. I've since put Californication, By The Way, Stadium Arcadium and I'm With You on shuffle.

John Mayer - Where The Light Is
One hell of a live album! It offers something for every mood and the three distinct performances add to the progression of the album itself, like a slow build up.

The Devil Wears Prada - Dead Throne
After listening to the new offering from Of Mice & Men I started looking for more metalcore/post-hardcore releases. This one got a favorable review and I enjoyed their Zombie EP, so it made sense to give it a shot. The instrumental Kansas is amazing and Chicago is easily my favorite song from the album.

Brilliance. It's super chaotic, but just flows so nicely. The buildup to "Interview At the Ruins" is so great and calming, then at 1:15 and about 30 seconds onward, one of the most epic things I've heard in a while.
Incredibly stoked for the new full length. The EP was brilliant IMO.

Seefeel - Quique (1993)
A brilliant collision of ambient electronica and dream pop. It's mostly instumental with some incomprehensible female vocals seeping through on some occasions. The whole album has a nice hazy, dreamy quality to it yet still feels oddly danceable at times. I'm guessing the likes of Malory, A Sunny Day In Glasgow and School Of Seven Bells drew influence from this. This album also landed them a deal with Warp records in 1994.

Pure X - Pleasure

A great debut from these guys. The Austin scene has been pumping out some pretty decent music this year. I wouldn't go so far as to say this is post rock...more like post indie. The songs are very floaty and dreamlike, but still interesting enough to keep your attention. I'll be keeping my eye on these guys for sure.

The Cure-Standing on a Beach:The Singles
Recently invested in a record player and this was the first record I got, so basically been playing the hell out of it. One of the best compilations ever surely.

Buzzcocks-Singles Going Steady
Another record I bought. An old favourite but my love has been refound on vinyl.

I hosted a couchsurfer from Germany and after he left, I found "Tropicana" opened up in my browser. I immediately downloaded the album from which it came and proceeded to loop it for a week! It's definitely more of summery album. They're instrumental indie pop with the perfect amount of electronica weaved in and I hear a lot of hip-hop influences in their later work, too.

Ah, Fleet Foxes. Do I need to say much about this band?

These Swedish sisters' cover of "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song" turned me on to the Fleet Foxes. Combine it with homemade youtube videos they made in the woods and I was sold. I saw them open for Bright Eyes (who I've never really been interested in) a couple of weeks ago and it confirmed my girl crush.

I've linkes for all these albums if you need.

SuperHeavy - Self Titled

I'm loving the hell out of this debut.

The supergroup consists of Mick Jagger, Damian Marley, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart and A.R. Rahman.
