I've been completely lost in L.A. Woman a few times recently. Been reading a book about Jim and on a bit of a Doors kick

I feel like recently I've hit a music slump. My iPod broke, leaving me with a 30GB older model...it just does not cut it. My life has also been pretty crazy, leaving me with little time to explore as I usually like to. However, I went on a downloading spree last weekend and have finally been getting to some of those albums. I've just listened to this one about five times:
Washed Out - Within and Without Could this be my favorite release of '11? Possibly. Full of 80's inspired dreamy synth with just enough touch of some modern influences...I freakin love this album. The first single off the album "Eyes Be Closed" is actually the weakest song on the album, in my opinion, so if you've heard that and liked it at all...trust me, the rest of the album is full of win. |

Massive Attack - Blue Lines This kicks the shit out of Mezzanine. |
Not exactly a new discovery by any means. But listening to Dark Side of the Moon recently, the 'b' side of the album absolutely blows side 'a' out of the water. I've always appreciated the album as a whole piece of art. But everything from "Us and Them" to the end is incredible. It's a nice feeling to get something new out of an album, even if it's your 100th time hearing it. And that's the case here.
