Птица (Bird):
http://downloadz.com.ua/images/aukts...titsa_1994.jpg By the Russian band АукцЫон (Auction). There is a nervousness in this album that reminds me a lot of Talking Heads. Similar to Talking Heads in Remain in Light, АукцЫон turns to somewhat unusual musical inspirations in this album. I think I hear a lot of Russian folk sounds, most notably captured by a number of brass instruments (trumpet, tuba, etc.) Sometimes the backing band gives off this strange Oom-pah/Ska hybrid vibe, but it isn't so weird that it distracts me. This album would definitely be considered genre-bending in my book. Something about it also reminds me of Tom Waits, but I haven't been able to put my finger on that yet. Something darkly perverse I guess? |

Thanks to doctorsoft. Great split, liked both bands on it. |
I think BastardofYoung was sent to MB by the gods for one reason:
To get me back into When the Kite String Pops by Acid Bath. One of my favorite albums and I haven't heard it in years. I almost forgot how much I love this. Thank you, Bastard. http://images.wikia.com/lyricwiki/im...tring_Pops.jpg |

Creep on Creepin' on by Timber Timbre Ian E Coleman wrote a review about it and let's just say it hooked me enough to buy it. I probably listened to it the rest of the night. I can't even pick a favorite because each song flows so well in order that if you dissect a couple, it's all out of whack. So thanks Ian. |
Self-Titled Album:
