Troum & All Sides - Shutûn

An incredible drone/ambient sprawl, sustaining absolute enthrallment for 54 minutes. While drone/ambient is one of the easiest genres to play, it's also one of the hardest to find an amazing album in, considering how many people try to form 'ambient/drone' side-projects which typically suck. This, however, is a naturally beautiful and dark endeavor, which strings together its parts with colossal droning interludes... It's hard to explain, but it's just ****ing good. Amazing night-time music, and headphone listening is demanded.

The Monochrome Set - Love Zombies
The Monochrome Set - The Strange Boutique

Loving these two albums. A post-punk band that's fairly overlooked (I've never checked them out till this past month, as they don't seem to be mentioned as much as many others in the genre). Very quirky, well-written songs and humorous, imaginative lyrics - they're like a slightly more experimental and less poppy XTC. Cannot believe I overlooked them for so long.

Also digging:

The Smiths - Strangeways Here We Come and The Queen Is Dead

I only listen to The Smiths very occasionally, I grew up listening to the band so I'm very familiar with them but it still blows me away how good they were. The guitar riff in "The Boy With The Thorn In His Side" is one of the best of all time as far as I'm concerned.

Wow... I just listened to an extract of it on youtube and just... wow. This is just as good as Stars of the Lid.

I am incredibly tempted to grab it as well. It's always the same thing with drone for me, should I check it or not? And I like drone.

I'm listening to it right now and I can tell you it's amazing. I'm not even a huge ambient/drone guy either.

On anther note (or in this case request)... does anyone have the mediafire/megaupload for Dedalus by All Sides?

I found that album while searching for Shutun, and it looks equally as good.
