My friends have been obsessed with Maylene for the past two months or so as well (they're brothers)... Not lying about your location there, are you Alfred

There's certain genres of music where I like simplicity, but metal isn't one of them; so I can't really get into Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. I can see how people like them so much, though.

I'm a Canuck all right.

I think it's easy to see how you couldn't like Maylene. Even I can see that there's times where they don't always pull it off. No, they're not an extremely technical band, but I love their lead guitar. That dude can pull off some sweet riffs.

I'm so stoked for the third album.

Favorite tracks (both): Darkest Of Kin, Dry The River, Memories Of The Grove, Just Wanted To Make Mother Proud, Bang! The Witch Is Dead
I realize that the sticker may be a commonly used one, but so far I've only see that prize sticker come from one record store here in Toronto, and that is Sonic Boom.

Do you happen to live in Toronto?

The sticker is part of the album cover.

Weirdly enough, found this little thing on a predominantly prog. rock label. Nothing to be blown away with, but It wasn't all that bad either. A bit of funk, soul, dub, R&B, even a sprinkle of afro-beats thrown in.

The first five tracks are great. The rest isn't nearly as impressive but still enjoyable.

I thought a few tracks might grow on me when I got it, but this is a hell of an album. Only one or two weak tracks out of the bunch.

Oh, and since it isn't clear, it's The New Danger by Mos Def
