Loaded is a great pop album.

I'd much rather listen to that album than the one with the stupid warbling German tart.

You sure you don't have this backwards?
I'm just being intentionally dumb. I thought it was goofy that he'd be ashamed to like Loaded.

Charles Mingus - Let My Children Hear Music
http://www.onttonen.info/mingus/deta...a/471247-b.jpg

One of his most under-appreciated albums, Let My Children Hear Music has become one of my favorites. While not as powerful as The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, this album touches on more ideas and more clearly highlights his ability in fusing the classical and jazz genres together. This is particularly seen in the song (although not originally in the LP) "Taurus in the Arena of Life". The song begins with a piano line reminiscent of a Bach invention, and then begins to full-forcedly reflect Mingus' brash jazz style, or maybe it's his angry temperament. "The Chill of Death" is also interesting, with Mingus reciting a spoken word piece about, yes, death. I like it a lot. This album as a whole reflects a very dark side of Charles Mingus, in my opinion.

Very brutal, a very exhausting album. One of the best '10 had to offer. I can't help but feel kind of violated while listening to this album.

Jon Schaffer's rhythm guitar work and Hansi Kursch's singing. Does it get any better?

My god, I love French people. Somebody please send me this album if it's convenient.

The Abyssinian Baptist Gospel Choir - Shakin' the Rafters

You know an album is good when you can disagree with every word yet still feel entranced by the mere energy they put into the performance. PRAISE-UH THE LORD-UH! Soulful, powerful choruses litter this thing, filled to the brim with great melodies sung by incredibly strong voices. The good gospel.
