Ambulance LTD - LP (2004)
Really digging this one lately. Just beautiful indie pop/dream pop/rock with some shoegaze tendencies. I'd been meaning to get it for a few years and finally did a few weeks ago. Loving it. Certain things about some tracks are reminding me of the latest Deerhunter - the more lively tracks on the album which are my favorites.

This is a constant thing for me really; I can't see to stop constantly playing The Con.

Yeah that's a good one. I like Anecdote and Heavy Lifting a lot.

Oh... I'll remember that then; it works on my side so I didn't realize. Thanks.

Lead Into Gold - Age Of Reason
after speaking with a couple members about Ministry and their numerous side projects....i was reminded of this one which consists of Ministry's bass player Paul Barker.....it's much darker and quite a bit slower much more of a concentration on conventional "industrial" sound....save the RevCo albums this is probably my favorite of the thousands of Ministry offspring ^i love the "washing your praying hands with oil" symbolism....not bad for 1990 |

I've recently had a hankering for old Bad Brains so I've been listening to Black Dots lately.
This was released on CD in the 90s but is a recording session done in 79 at Inner Ear studios (which was just a house in Alexandria, VA). Don Zientara recorded it and it used to be known simply as 'the Zientara sessions'. You can hear HR talking to neighborhood kids at one point. Also, I think this is the most "classic" punk rock that Bad Brains ever made. Here's Redbone in the City..

Curtis Mayfield - Curtis
This is quite awesome. Glad I finally got it, been enjoying it the past month.

I've been on the hunt for some new music, and this band has made themselves on my collection. Very cool band, a notable different style and vibe on every song. If you haven't heard of this band and you like instrumental prog/space/psychedelic rock, than this is the band for you. I wanted a band that I could listen to and they would give me a good mind trip, these guys (and gal) are perfect. This is just one of the albums I have from them. Oh, and they have over 20 albums, so much to listen to!!! I've known about this album for a while, but never bothered listening to it. A great album. It starts off with a nice instrumental, and ends with another called Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, it is a pure genious mind trip. |
