Various Artists - Rumble in the Jungle
In opening, I hate compilations. But for a genre like ragga jungle, it's sometimes where you need to turn to. But if this isn't one Hell of a compilation... A great blend of strong, iron-willed, adrenaline-pumping jams at high tempos, along with slower, more chant-focused ones that settle you down before the next intense slam. Tribal music for the ADD crowd. I love the Amen break to death. Just the right amount of absolute insanity. |

Waylon Jennings - Honky Tonk Heroes
Waylon's music is something I've listened to and been a 'fan' of for a long time. Until recently though I didn't really explore his music that well. Breaking down and finally going in depth in Waylon's discography is one of the best things I've done for myself in a while music wise. David Allan Coe - 17 Greatest Hits Now, I think David Allan Coe has some fine tunes. I know he's got a number of albums and songs that bring him a lot of heat but I try to tune those out and enjoy him for whats good about him. Usually I am not a big fan of listening to greatest hits albums, but I feel that that's the only way to listen to DAC he's one of those musicians that had some great music but never released that one amazing album. Billy Joe Shaver - Old Five and Dimers Like Me BSJ is one heckuva'n overlooked musician by entirely too many people. He wrote some amazing songs and done a very good job at preforming them too. I've been really digging this type stuff lately so he's really getting a number of listens from me lately. I'm also listening to a lot of Willie Nelsons Red Headed Stranger.

Godflesh - Streetcleaner
Think this has fully clicked with me. I've enjoyed it before, but I found myself mesmerized by it when listening on the train earlier. The guitars can be so harsh and brutal, and there's something really otherworldly about the album I think. Love the vocals as well - Christbait Rising in particular, that's my favourite song on this. There's an obvious Swans influence, which is only a positive thing in my opinion. I've always enjoyed Jesu most out of all Justin Broadrick's endeavours, but I think Godflesh may be about to claim that prestigious honour because this has floored me today. |

And if you feel like hearing a different, dancier side to Godflesh the Slavestate EP and Songs of Love and Hate in Dub are definitely worth your while. |
